Epiphany
GREETING, WELCOME, AND PEACE
Rev. Dr. Danny R. Barton
Hymn of Worship 252 - When Jesus Came to Jordan
When Jesus came to Jordan to be baptized by John,
He did not come for pardon but as the sinless one.
He came to share repentance with all who mourn their sins,
To speak the vital sentence with which good news begins.
He came to share temptation, our utmost woe and loss,
For us and our salvation to die upon the cross.
So when the dove descended on him, the Son of Man,
the hidden years had ended, the age of grace began.
Hymn 191 - Jesus Loves Me
Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to him belong, they are weak but He is strong.
Yes, Jesus loves me, yes, Jesus loves me.
Yes, Jesus loves me, the Bible tells me so.

Hymn of Worship 400 - Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing
Kirsten Barringer, soloist; Deborah Ulrich pianist
Come, thou Fount of every blessing, tune my heart to sing thy grace;
Streams of mercy, never ceasing, call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet, sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise his name, I'm fixed upon it, mount of thy redeeming love.
Hither to Thy love has blessed me; Thou has brought me to this place,
And I hope, by thy good pleasure, safely to arrive at home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger, wandering from the fold of God;
He, to rescue me from danger, interposed his precious blood.
O to grace how great a debtor daily I'm constrained to be!
Let thy goodness, like a fetter, bind my wandering heart to thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, prone to leave the God I love;
Here's my heart, O take and seal it, seal it for thy courts above.

OFFERING PRAYER
OFFERTORY
Thanks Be To Thee
Van Arc Wright, soloist
Thanks be to Thee! O Lord, our God,
Thou hast Thy flock guided in peace in safety to another year.
Like a good shepherd, thou dost restore us, Lord
Thy right hand leadeth us in the paths of righteousness.
Thanks be to Thee! O Lord, our God,
Thou hast Thy flock guided in peace in safety to another year.
APOSTLES’ CREED
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil, for Thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
Hymn of Response 399 vs. 1 & 3 - Take My Life and Let it be Consecrated
Take my life, and let it be consecrated, Lord, to thee.
Take my moments and my days; let them flow in ceaseless praise.
Take my hands, and let them move at the impulse of thy love.
Take my feet, and let them be swift and beautiful for thee.
Take my will, and make it thine; it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart, it is thine own; it shall be thy royal throne.
Take my love, my Lord, I pour at thy feet its treasure-store.
Take myself, and I will be ever, only, all for thee.
